Another Century of Books – 1922 to 2022
I attempted and successfully completed a Century of Books project in 2014, and tried it again twice more, not quite making it to completion but having good fun in the quest and discovering some new-to-me writers.
This time round I’m going to cut out two whole decades of the 20th Century and do the hundred years starting in 1922, ending in 2022. So really a century plus one year!
See way down below for how this whole concept started, and my linked listS to the books I read in 2014, 2017 and 2018.
My personal goal this time round is to complete the challenge by December 31, 2022. As in previous Century projects, I am aiming to read books which are either new-to-me, or re-reads of ones which I haven’t yet written about.
I noticed the following quote on another reader’s blog, and I had to laugh. Yup. The boasting takes a back seat to the enjoyment for most of us, but I think it’s a factor for sure!
“There are two motives for reading a book; one, that you enjoy it; the other, that you can boast about it” – Bertrand Russell

An Incomplete Second Century of Books – 1900 to 1999
I really loved doing the Century of Books project in 2014, so much so that I’m going to repeat it in 2018. I’m looking forward to the quest for books from every year, 1900 to 1999, and discovering some new-to-me writers, and having the wonderful experience of experiencing the century through its popular fiction.
See way down below for how this whole concept started, and my linked list to the books I read in 2014.
My personal goal is to complete the challenge by January 31, 2019. I noticed the following quote on another reader’s blog, and I had to laugh. Yup. The boasting takes a back seat to the enjoyment for most of us, but I think it’s a factor for sure!

A Century of Books – 1900 to 1999
Inspired by Simon’s personal challenge, detailed here on his Stuck-in-a-Book blog post, I have decided to join in the 2014 Century of Books. It’ll be interesting to see this list fill up 🙂 I am really excited about doing this challenge too.
I am so looking forward to all of the reading I have planned for this one, and to seeing what everyone else is reading, too.:-)

Enjoyed your posts on Barbara Pym, my favourite writer – please read some Patrick Hamilton. I think you might like him! I highly recommend The Slaves of Solitude, Twenty Thousand Streets under the Sky, and The Gorse Trilogy.
